4 Exercises That Will Help You Do Burpees Like A Champion

There’s a reason that burpees are popular among the military. It’s a quick exercise that uses the whole body and provides a great cardio exercise as well. But, like anything else, you can tire of this exercise. Not too worry, “Variety is the spice of life.”

1. Walking Burpee – No Pushup

To do this exercise: begin with your feet apart(A). Then squat down and step one foot back at a time (B). While in the plank position, walk your feet back to meet your hands (C). Return to standing. (That’s one rep.)

2. Squat Jumps

Align your feet with your shoulder. Point your toes forward and put your weight in your heels. Lower your hips back and down. Stop when your knees are at a 90% angle (A). Swing your arms and jump as high as you can (B). As you land, gently bend your knees and return to the squat position. That’s one rep.

3. Burpee Pushups

Begin in a plank position (A). Lower your body until your chest nearly touches the ground (B). Pause, then push up to the original plank position. That’s one rep.

4. Frogger

(No, we don’t mean playing the old video game.) Start in the plank position (A). Jump with both feet landing outside of your hands. Keep your chest up and your butt down. You should look like a frog (B). Jump your feet back to the start position. That’s one rep.
