Michael's body Scenes

1. Every 2 weeks, change up your exercise routine. A recent study showed that people enjoyed a variety of exercise versus sticking to the same one.

2. Never skip your most important meal. That is, the recovery meal after your workout.

3. Make sure that when you do your exercises you focus on doing them well and correctly.

4. Aiming for a weight goal? Try having a range versus a specific number.

5. Into juice cleanse diets? Be aware that drastically restricting your caloric intake to drop pounds may backfire. A 2010 study showed that doing this elevated levels of cortisol, the primary stress hormone. Chronic stress has been associated with an increased risk of weight gain.

6. Keep that string bikini handy during the winter, so you can see what those holiday treats are doing to your body.

7. Use peppermint liberally. A study in the Journal of the International Society of Sports Nutrition showed that men who drank 2 cups water with a drop of peppermint oil then ran on a treadmill helped to relax muscles, boosted oxygen to both muscles and the brain and elevated their pain threshold.

8. Take one day at a time!

9. Try a workout partner. He will not only help you keep accountable but may help you “clock” more training.

10. A simple jump rope can do wonders.

11. Pay attention to your stomach. If you’re not hungry, don’t eat that last cupcake.

12. When preparing your meals, pay attention to portion size. You don’t need a measuring cup; just plan portions so that they are not overlapping on the plate

13. Go to the beat of your own drum. Work out or run to your favorite playlist to power through! We at Michael Body Scenes can help you transform your body to get incredible results. We offer both classes and one-on-one training!

Routines may be the core of life.

But sometimes, it’s great to shake up them up, especially in view of fitness.

Here are some fun ideas to mix things up!

Consider trying something at the gym you’ve never used before. (Make sure you ask a trainer for directions if you’re not sure how to use the equipment.)

While you’re at the gym, try a couple more reps of your usual exercise routine.

This subtle change can be quite helpful.

As you go about your day, try to always take the stairs whenever possible and park your car farther away from stores so that you add extra steps wherever you go.

Go to bed a half of hour early on days that you find yourself most active.

Sleep is truly rejuvenating.

Jumpstart your day!

Try to dance to at least 3 songs first thing in the morning.

That will get your blood pumping and is certain to put a jump in the step.

Michael’s Body Scenes can help you vary your routine in safe but exciting ways!

You Really Do Crave Sugar

Why do we crave sugar? It’s all in our head.

1.When Your Brain Meets Sugar

Michael's body Scenes

Sugar fuels every cell in your body. In your brain, sugar is viewed as a reward. If you eat it too often, you reinforce that reward. It becomes a habit that can be tough to break.

2.Simple Carbs

Michael's body Scenes

Candy bars contain simple carbohydrates. They quickly turn into glucose in the bloodstream and your blood sugar levels spike. Foods, such as soda, candy, table sugar and syrup, also spike sugar levels. Dairy products, vegetables and fruits also contain simple carbs. But, these foods also contain fiber and protein that slow down the process.

3.When Your Sugar Drops

Michael's body Scenes

As your sugar levels spike in your blood, your body is trying hard to remove it into the cells for energy. It needs insulin, produced by the pancreas to do this. The rapid change in blood sugar can make you feel tired. The body’s natural response is to look for more sugar.

4.There’s A Reason You Crave Chips And Fries

Michael's body Scenes

These foods are full of starches which contain complex carbohydrates. They can also make your blood sugar spike and crash. Keep white bread, pretzels, pasta and crackers at a minimum.

5.Artificial Sweeteners Are Not The Answer

Michael's body Scenes

Michael's body Scenes

To go cold turkey and avoid all sweets: dairy, fruit, refined grains, candy, and cookies is too drastic of a change. Although, it may sound like a great idea to purge your body of all sweets, in reality, it’s too hard to keep up.

7.Try To Retrain Your Taste Buds

Michael's body Scenes

It may be hard to believe but you don’t need all that sugar. You can retrain your taste buds by cutting out one sweet food once a week. Substitute protein instead. When you do crave sugar, reach for a piece of fruit. Over time, your tastes will change.
