Look How Global Politics Can Directly Impact Food!

During Israel’s recent wave of terror, their citizens changed their shopping patterns.

Seven percent less supermarket groceries were purchased during the first two weeks of October.

Why?  More Israelis chose to stay home.

But, they did need to eat.  Online sales, jumped by double-digits during this same time period.

However, this was not enough to cover the drop in overall sales.

Those items most sought after were perishable goods and baby formula.

Fruits and vegetables dropped by 21%, cottage cheese by 17.8% and bread by 12.6 %.

As the adage says: “Necessity is the mother of invention.”
