Losing weight may be easier than you think! Here’s some tips that have NOTHING to do with food.
1. Always Eat Off A Plate … Preferably, A Smaller One
Eating off a plate helps you in a number of ways. First, you avoid just “munching.” Second, it provides you with portion control. Also, use smaller plates. You may feel fuller when you see yourself eating off a full plate.
2. Pay attention to plate color.
Studies have shown that when folks eat food served on a plate of a contrasting color, they tend to eat less. Scientists recommend a blue plate in particular, as there is very little food that is blue in color.
3. Use A Tall, Skinny Glass When Drinking
People tend to overestimate volume when using short, wide glasses. More volume can equal more calories.
4. Get some sleep.
Sleep seems to cure everything. Studies have shown that folks who sleep less, are more likely to be overweight.
5. Quit Watching Those Cooking Shows.
Between food commercials and reality cooking shows, you may become more fixed on food. So, walk away when those commercials come on.
6. Out of sight, out of mind!
If you must buy junk food, hide it! Put away that candy dish at work and hide the cookies in the cupboard. Conversely, show off that healthy food.
7. Chew, chew, chew!
Chewing slows down the process. You may not only ingest less calories, but your brain will register that you are getting full, faster.
