The key to getting healthy is taking small, realistic steps. This is really the only way to make the changes a permanent part of your life. These simple hacks can make you feel like a new person. Read on!
1. Move Your Body … EVERY DAY.
We’re not talking about training for a marathon. But, simply stretching and going out for a brisk walk is a great start. Once you get used to doing this, add some cardio, your heart will thank you. If vigorous activity is not your thing, consider yoga! Yoga will help your mind and body.
2. Drink Plenty Of Water.
What could be more obvious … or easy? Flush your body daily of toxins. How do you know if you’re drinking enough? Your urine should be a pale yellow in color.
3. Eat Real Food.
Stop yourself from going to the inner aisles of the supermarket. The outside aisles contain the fresh fruit and vegetables. Speaking of vegetables, most people lag in this category when compared to fruit. You should strive for 6-9 servings/day of veggies. (A serving being 4 ounces.) But, remember, you need your fruit too.
4. Get Up And Get Out.
Whether you go out hiking or want to meditate, outside is the place to do it. Just 5 minutes of breathing in fresh air can do your mind and spirit wonders. When walking or hiking, you don’t have to sprint. Rather, take your time and enjoy your surroundings.
5. Go To Bed Grateful And Don’t Forget To Love Yourself.
Really, when you lie down to sleep, think about something you are grateful for. Remember, you must love yourself before you are capable of loving others. That doesn’t mean being selfish. Recognize the goodness in you, in life, and in others.
