1. How Stress Affects Our Behavior
Do eat more when you are stressed? Or have a taste for certain foods (ie: chocolate)? Science has shown these are typical reactions to stress. Other behavior that can be induced are angry outbursts and drug /alcohol/tobacco use. Research has shown that social withdrawal can also be a side effect of stress.
2. How Does Stress Affect Your Mood?
Chances are, you’re already familiar with some, if not all, of these symptoms. Have you ever experienced sadness or even depression? Or, found it hard to focus or just cannot get motivated? How about feeling restless or anxious? These are all signs of stress.
3. We’re Not Done … Stress Can Affect Your Body
From fatigue to insomnia, stress can make itself known. That pain you feel … in your muscles, chest or head … are probably a part of your body’s reaction to stress as well.
4. What To Do?
Get up and move. Physical activity is a solution for some. Take a walk around the parking lot, or better yet, the block. Also, you can explore various relaxation techniques: yoga, meditation or tai chi. Make sure you are eating well and at least, TRY to get plenty of sleep.
5. Contact A Doctor
If you are not sure of the cause of your discomfort, it pays to make a visit to your doctor. Any chest pain (especially radiating to the arm) accompanied by, shortness of breath, sweating or dizziness.
