These days we hear a lot about antioxidants.

But what exactly are they?

Antioxidants are naturally occurring or man made chemicals that can prevent or delay cell damage.

It’s their behavior that’s important.

Healthy cells are formed in a specific way.

Antioxidants help these cells maintain their correct cell structure.

There are a number of antioxidants that occur naturally in fruits and vegetables.

These include foods rich in Vitamins A, C, and E; and foods that contain lutein, beta-carotine, lycopene, and selenium.

Think bright and colorful fruits and veggies and you’ll probably find a food that is rich in antioxidants.

It should be noted that too much of anything is not a good thing, and that’s true with antioxidants as well.

Make sure your diet is always well balanced!
