They considered family medical history, education, diabetes, age, smoking and other variables. Then, they compared those that ate spicy foods (primarily chili peppers) less than once a week, once a week, twice a week or more.
2.The Results Were Startling
There was a 10% overall reduced risk of death for those who ate spicy foods once or twice a week. But, those who ate these foods 6-7 times a week reduced their risk of death by 14%.
