1. You Have To Focus On Strength Development
Utilizing a progression of exercises to build up strength is much more effective than just doing conditioning or cardio workouts. Consider adding some upper body pulling strength exercise in addition to your regular workout.

A previous injury to a rotator cuff, shoulder impingement problems or AC separation can impact your ability to perform a pull up. In fact, any type of upper extremity injury may be a deterrent.
