A study done by a Canadian firm showed that confidence and desire were leading factors in maintaining a successful exercise regime.
Data was gathered via phone interviews with over 5,000 people between the ages of 15 – 79.
They were asked how they felt about accomplishing an exercise program that included “light” exercise on a daily routine and 30 minutes of “moderate” exercise 3-4 times a week.
Intention and confidence ranked highest.
After these, availability of an exercise program, social support and perceived health benefits were noted.
