Stretching should feel good … but like other exercises it’s important to do them correctly.
Here are some facts: Stretching does not prevent muscle soreness.
An icepack and ibuprofen may provide better relief.
Stretching does improve flexibility; and flexibility is crucial to a well-rounded fitness program.
You should make it a habit to stretch throughout the day.
Stretching can also decrease your risk of injury (as long as you don’t do static stretches.)
Make sure when stretching to keep both sides balanced and never bounce when you stretch.
Not surprisingly, stretching increases blood flow to your muscles.
So keep that blood flowing!
