It’s true that activity does help depression. But, for those actually suffering from clinical or situational depression, that’s the last thing they need to hear. (Chances are, they already know that.) That’s part of the paradox of being depressed. Here’s some real advice for those who are suffering.
1.The Perfect Exercise For Those Depressed
The ideal workout is anything you will do. If getting into workout gear is too tiring, work out in what you are wearing. Remember, the perfect body is a breathing one
2.Choose The Best Venue For You
Sometimes, resources or your health, do not permit you to join a gym. That’s okay. There are YouTube videos or exercise programs available on your mobile. Have some fun and break out the Wii.
3.Divide Up Your Workout Plan
It’s so easy to get overwhelmed when you’re depressed. Divide your workout session into the smallest pieces possible. That may mean just getting up and out the door. Aim to increase your session in small time increment daily.
4.What Is Your Body Telling You?
It’s a given your body is telling you not to move. But, depression lies. However, if you’re seriously hurting, consider why. Are you doing the exercise correctly or pushing yourself too hard? Remember, how you workout today will affect your tomorrow.
5.Pat Yourself On The Back
Give yourself some credit. Celebrate getting up, any increase in your workout, and of course, the completion of an exercise routine. Don’t fret over incomplete workouts. For the truly depressed person, it’s exhausting enough to stay alive.
