Folks that love spicy foods are in a league of their own. It might be a very good league to be in.

A recent study has shown the number of folks that enjoy hot foods is increasing; and it especially popular among those ages of 18-34.

Spicy foods may have a healthy benefit for everyone though.

Time magazine recently printed an article about the advantages of eating hot foods.

One reason was that capsaicin, the spicy chemical in peppers, has been shown to reduce the risk of tumors.

This chemical has demonstrated the ability to activate the cell receptors in the intestinal lining, and creating a reaction that lowers the tumor risk.

One study showed its ability to kill prostate cancer cells in mice.

About 80% of the prostate cancer cells were killed.

It has also been shown to be effective against breast, pancreatic and bladder cancer cells.

Capsaicin also has both antioxidant and anti-inflammatory properties.
