The irony … the word exercise is derived from the Latin word “exercere,” which means to keep busy or AT WORK. Yet, for many folks, work means sitting for hours at a desk. What’s a desk jockey to do? Read on!
1.First Things First … Good Posture
When at your desk, make sure sitting at a 90-90-90 position. First, your feet are flat on the floor (or on a foot rest). Next, your knees and hips are bent at 90 degree angles. Your lower spine should be against the chair back.
4. Try To Avoid Developing Carpal Tunnel
Stand at your desk. With your arms straight, place your palms on the desk, with fingers pointed toward you. Hold this position for 15 seconds. Repeat throughout the day.
5. Take A Ride On A Magic Carpet
Sit cross legged on your chair. Suck in your gut and raise yourself a few inches above the seat using your belly, muscles and hands. Hold for 10-20 seconds. After resting for 30 seconds. Repeat up to 5 times.
